Three Great Outings In May

This month we offer 3 excellent outings -- our annual Lott/Adams outing Sat. May 9, and gourmet lunch on the St. Johns. We usually get half the club or more together to fish the great fishery, then chow down and talk, relax, cast, fish, whatever. Please email annlott@aug.com to let her know you're coming. We need a head count for food. Maybe bring a dish, too.

Next, come wade with vereran angler Don Edlin for ladyfish, blues, jacks, reds, maybe even pompano. These are some really great fishing days, Sat., May 23 and May 30. No boat required, but boats and kayaks can reach these areas. Sign up at the meeting or email David Lambert, outings guy, smartcasts@gmail.com

First Coast Fly Fishers, FCFF, is family-oriented fly fishing club dedicated to promoting the sport of fly fishing, fly fishing education and resource awareness.  Come to a monthly meeting -- you'll see why we consistently are rated among the top fly fishing clubs on the East Coast.

Meetings, dates and speakers are listed on the meetings page.  We meet at 7 p.m. in the Southpoint Marriott Hotel, 4670 Salisbury Rd (intersection of I-95 and J. Turner Butler), Jacksonville, Florida.  Come early, if we have enough light, David Lambert, Dick Michaelson, and Rich Santos give free casting lessons at the hotel pond.  Don Reed and others teach fly tying in the winter months.

Guests are always welcome.  Our members participate in monthly outings as well as free fly tying lessons, casting clinics, family days, classes, and seminars throughout the year.  Our year-end FCFF Banquet Weekend is a full two-day affair where we bring in a world-renowned fly fisher as our guest speaker and clinic instructor.

    O
n banquet night we offer a great meal, an nationally prominent fly fishing oriented speaker, and literally thousands of dollars worth of raffle and silent auction items -- fly fishing merchandise, guided trips, clinics, and related items.

Family memberships cost $100 per year. Youth memberships are free.  For more information, contact membership chair Bart Isaac email.
